COLAS RAIL WILL RENOVATE THE RAILROAD FROM POZNAN TO SZCZECIN

On 18.06.2019, at the headquarters of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship Office in Szczecin, an agreement was signed for the Reconstruction of track systems with associated infrastructure on the E59 railroad line, section Slonice-Choszczno, as part of the project "Works on the E59 railroad line on the section Poznań Główny-Szczecin Dąbie" On behalf of the Employer PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S. A. the agreement was signed by Mr. Ryszard Magdziak Deputy Director of the Western Region for EU projects and Zbigniew Miliński Deputy Director of the Western Region for national projects, and on behalf of the Contractor Colas Rail Mr. Andrzej Łukaszewicz Managing Director.

Currently, trains on this section can travel at speeds of no more than 120 km/h. After modernization, the line will be adapted to a speed of 160 km per hour. - This will shorten the travel time between Poznań and Szczecin

As part of the work, tracks, turnouts along with drainage will be replaced, engineering structures and the catenary network will be rebuilt. In addition, the station and platforms at the Choszczno station and the Stary Klukom passenger stop will undergo modernization, and will be adapted for the disabled. The platforms will be equipped with new pavement, signage and elements of small architecture. The project is being carried out in the build system on the basis of design documentation received from the Employer.

The value of the investment is PLN 185million net.
